CHALLENGE DAY 9

Your favourite cartoon/anime character.

While I have a lot of favourite characters, I thought it was only fair to draw Edward Elric from the manga and twice an anime Fullmetal Alchemist. FMA was the series that truly got me into the world of anime/manga and he was a character that I loved greatly. Maybe it was because we were both short, maybe because my mom had cancer which later took her life and his mother died from sickness, maybe because we both had young siblings to look after,or even all these factors, but I felt like I could relate to him. And he was a good reminder to stay strong even when live is hellish, and to never let anyone give me any trouble over my height. It was also fortunate that I came across the series while it was still growing strong. I got to experience the rush of waiting for each book to come out and then practically devouring it once I got in in my hands, I got to grow with Ed. And in the end, we both got a bit taller.

Something with your favourite color.

I was really looking forward to challenge day, because I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Here, I drew different incarnations of my favourite color: PURPLE !

Something you've never drawn before.

I couldn't think of anything so I went to a random word generator for inspiration. The result was "crab comet trampoline", which fit the requirement. I have never drawn a crab comet trampoline. So I drew this little comic, it's kinda silly but I'm content with it. I also used it as an opportunity to play with the no-lines style again.

Your favourite outfit

This is my dream outfit. Yellow dress, red shoes, and a denim jacket. I even added a cute little red bow accessory. It seems like the perfect outfit for a fun whimsical adventure, or just a nice day out and about.

I also decided to experiment with a different art style. No lines just colors! :3

I dress the piranha plant from the Nintendo Mario games into a lady in a fancy dress. >3<She'd make a cool cosplay idea, maybe for halloween or AnimeBoston next year haha.

Fancy Ood and other Space Things

I've been in a very Doctor Who mood lately, so I drew an Ood to match my mood. :) He's fancy!

Also, last night I went through one of my sketchbooks and I found some character sketches that I thought could go together in a fun way. I have a cool idea for a comic with all these guys!

I really liked designing the princess's dress :)

ATTACK OF THE DRAWINGS

This is a sketch I was working on before I got lazy and stopped drawing for a bit. I was planning a Pleasantly Sour story in which I was going to introduce the Seven Heavenly Virtues. This is Wrath and her virtuous counterpart Patience. The scanner cut off parts of it : p 

The Kitten Pirates RETURN~!! I love drawing these two characters, but I just realized I don't think I ever named them... I'm thinking Lyra and Kyra. I think at some point I'm going to gather all the drawings I have of them and put them in a post, just so I can have everything together and see how they have developed overtime :3 Also, I plan on coloring this!

I like how this one came out. In my mind this is a humanoid Applejack riding what was going to be Big Macintosh but is probably going to end up being Braeburn, depends on whether I want to color the horse red or not >_>. ((BTW those are all characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic <3 which is a really amusing show haha)) Or it can just be a kick butt cowgirl escaping from some baddies ;D. Whichever. Also to be colored soon.

Rise of the Phoenix

She's an angel that fell from heaven and turned to ash. But her stubborn and determined spirit lead her to be reborn as a creature of fire. She rose from her ashes and became a phoenix.

Tribute to the Greek Gods

ATHENA VS POSEIDON

 If someone asked me to pick a set of Gods or a God that I wish were absolutely and undisputably real, I would pick the Greek Gods. Now, these guys knew how to have a fun time! I have always had a fascination towards Greek Mythology. I don't really know why, but I love the Greek Gods and Goddesses, they're just so FUN! They're crazy! They're wild! They're definetly far from perfect! I just think having these guys around would make the world very exciting to say the least.

'Kay, so the drawing above was colored on photoshop. I think it came out ok, I need to start fooling around more on photoshop. There are some really cool effects and stuff I just need to practice using them.

Tomorrow, I'm going to color in the drawing of this in my notebook with pencils and I'll post it here to see which came out better.

The drawing is of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and Justice, standing off against Poseidon, the great big God of the Sea! Athena and Poseidon are big rivals, always arguing and trying to out do each other. One of their famous "battles" was their contest to see which God would get the city Athens named after them. (Obviously Athena won) Each of them was to present a gift to the people of Athens and the people would name their city after the God with the best gift. Poseidon gave them a spring of seawater, and Athena gave them an olive tree. The people decided the olive tree was more useful and a better gift so the Athena became their patron Goddess (of awesomness ;) ).
