2009!!!

WOO!! I just can't wait till 2009!! hurrah!!

What awaits us in the new year?
  • the reign of Obama- yay
  • more fancy ipods- I'm sure of it
  • melting icecaps- idk about this one, maybe
  • less pollution and more global awareness and stuffs- hope so
  • chickens?- always
  • more development in technology + medicine -hopefully
  • mutant ninja turtles?- oh wait allrreeaadddy have those!
  • funny snl skits- hmmm...only if Palin does something that will get her in the news again
  • Halloween will become a national holiday-what every kid wants but will probably never get

Well ANYTHING could happen next year! ANYTHING!

but hows the new year sure to bring for me?

  • more anime+ manga - maybe the anime gods will smile upon all Fullmetal Alchemist fans and bring about a second season :), if not I'll just continue reading it and I'll watch Death Note (which I have started doing)
  • more posts- of course
  • School and more school
  • BOOKS AND BOOKS AND BOOKS HURRAH!
  • and as always I'll try to make some new years resolutions and probably never actually go through with them

New Year's Resolutions (I might not go through with)

  • I want to start taking better care fro my health- exercise, eat better, all that stuff
  • Draw EVERYDAY- I tried last year but, I did well for a couple days but then stopped, no shocker there, but maybe 2009 will be different
  • Write more posts more frequently
  • Write a book- probably a collection of poems and/or short stories I don't have the patience or time to write a novel (but who knows maybe I'll find time to do it, I doubt it though)
  • i think I'll write more lists too, this is fun
  • what else....
  • .....
  • ..
  • oh i know I'll read more and go outside more instead of watching TV and computering lol
  • watch more anime and read more manga
  • go to the anime convention in Boston cuz it was sooo much fun this year
  • and now I'm just writing stuff I want to do instead of resolutions
  • I'll stop that now
  • oh I'm also going to TRY to become more organized, but really that never happens, must be against my nature or something, I try and try but never manage to become organized
  • And LAST OF ALL : I'm going to SAVE THE WORLD ! wooooo! lol :) - I'll try my best lol

k..... that's all I feel like writing for now

I'll probably post a poem or story or something having to do with the New Year later....not now...later today or tomorrow...later.

A Day of Snow

Tina Kitten woke early one morning, looked outside her window and gasped. What did see that caused her to gasp so early in the morning? Outside her window she saw white, white snow.
It was spread like a large blanket, suffocating anything it could get it's hands on.The evergreen trees were white, the grass was white, the roads were white... Everything was white as, well, white as snow of course! Tina's little heart leaped in excitement, she had seen snow only once in her short life so far.She remembered well what snow brought with it besides the splendid beauty she saw outside.

Snow brought a day of fun, a day of adventures, a day unlike any other.

Tina jumped out of her bed and ran through her house shouting:
"It snowed! It snowed!"
Her many sisters and many brothers woke up with the exciting news.
Hyped on adrenaline, they rushed through the wholesome breakfast Mama Cat had made them.
Quickly they put on their snow gear, mittens, caps, gloves, scarves, boots and all.

They jumped into a big pile of snow, piling on top of each other, Tina was on top of them all since she was the smallest. Then they built snow forts and had a grand snowball fight, girls versus boys.
Afterwards, exhausted from their Snow War, they fell back on the snowy ground and made snow angels. They went inside to get some nice warm mugs of hot chocolate, but left very shortly after.
They then got busy building a big snow cat.

Much too soon, the kittens heard their mother calling once again.
"Come in little ones! Come in!" she called after them.
Reluctantly they came in, with sad long faces, and drooping whiskers. But their sorrow did not last for long for as soon as they got in the house Mama Cat announced to them that they were going to the Big Hill to ski and sled! The kittens expressions changed in a flash from sad to ecstatic!

The Big Hill was the merriest of places. Hundreds of animals came there for snow filled fun; there were cats and dogs, bunnies and monkeys, and many many more. There at the Big Hill the kittens had the most fun! They skied and giggled as they passed others who fell, but they always stopped to help after of course, they were well raised kittens. Then they went sledding, going faster and faster down the hill, swerving to avoid trees. Finally after they had all had as much fun as possible, they gathered to listen to the carolers who were by the big Christmas tree, and they all joyfully sang along.

On the ride back home the kittens started a chant, what the chant was you will never guess.
It was a chant for ice cream!
"Ice cream! Ice cream! Ice cream!" the little kittens chanted.
You might think this odd, ice cream on such a cold day??
But the cold was precisely why they wanted ice cream, for in the cold the ice cream wouldn't melt!

After the ice cream, they all went home. The tired kittens slowly got ready for bed, their energy all spent. Tina lay in bed with a big smile on her face. Once again the snow had not failed her. It had brought her a great wonderful day, just like it had done before and would always do in the future.

A reason to be HaPpY

My mom has a rare liposarcoma that she was been fighting for about 8-9 years now.She has been through more clinical trials and surgeries than I can count. And I love her dearly. She is and always will be my role model. She's warrior of a very special unique kind. She has just recently started a clinical trial in NYC at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
Today she came home with good news. Her tumors are stable.
What does this mean?

It means the tumors didn't grow. It means that the drug is working for right now. It means she can continue to be in the clinical trial. It means that there is even more hope.

I LOVE YOU ELSA!!

Voldemort gets scolded

This is a drawing I did during French class. We had to do 2 signs that we would put on our bedroom door forbidding people to do something. Like "It is forbidden to enter" or something like that. This was one of my signs.
On the top it says " Please do not steal my things and my life."
Voldemort is saying " Mais, je veux ta vie": "But I want your life."
I am yelling at him for stealing my stuff and wanting to steal my life. "NO! NO IS NO!"
:)

I plan to make a better version of it later to put on my door. ;)

Why?

Hmm... how to explain why I like Howl's Moving Castle...

Well what I liked the most was the story it told, it was really nice, I'm not sure I could tell you the plot without giving it away though. :P
It had very funny characters, I got some great quotes to put it Favourite Quotes Section on the side bar.

Another thing I really liked about the movie was how it was both funny and sad, and how the bad guys end up not being so bad after all. It's a really nice movie, but to really appreciate it you have to see it. Also I liked how it was drawn, how the characters looked and that sort of stuff. I really enjoy the japanese style cartoons, manga and anime.

If I think of any other ways to explain what was good about the movie I'll post them.

Howl's Moving Castle

I watched a reaaaaalllllyyyyy ggooooooooodddd movie yesterday.
It was called Howl's Moving Castle, it was one of the greatest movies I have ever seen.
I LOVE IT!
I just really needed to say so.
It was a really nice story, good twists and fun characters and everything!!

AWESOME, AWESOME MOVIE!!
It deserves ********************************************************************************************************************************* stars :)
I now know what to answer when people ask me what my favourite movie is :D:D:D:D:D
It's even better than the Harry Potter movies... and even maybe The Parent Trap. (and if you know me you know I love those movies ;) )

(PS these are all pictures from the film ;P)

A poem about fantasy

The Problem with Fantasies
by FE, November 24, 2008

Fantasy will be the death of me.
My imagination runs much too wild.
My heart gets too caught up
in things that are not real.

My eyes torture me with fictional beauty.
Stories of happy endings
will keep me wishing, wishing, wishing
for my very own.

Romantic stories
of true love
will keep me waiting
for my prince,
but fantasy's high standards
may cause me to let
the one right for me slip from my grasp.

Will I ever escape this world?
Of magic and mystery?
Were everything can be fixed
with a pinch of pixie dust?
Will I someday make it out,
and see the true beauty around me?

nights creatures

Night's Creatures
by FE, nov. 22-25 2008

Darkness penetrates the sky.
Turning day into night,
right before your eyes.

Night's creatures
come out to play,
their deadly game
of predator and prey.

The howl of the wolves,
a cricket's low chirp,
the nightingale's enchanting song.
Are the only things that dare break the silence.

Precious

Precious
by FE, Nov. 22 2008

Wilting roses by the window,
their fragrance still permeates the room.

A low glowing fire
dances and sings in a mysterious way.

Outside there is snow,
white, cold, unwelcoming,

A girl is sleeping on her couch,
She dreams of how her life could be be.

A purring kitten stretches,
then lays itself on the rug before the fire.

A precious moment,
in a precious life.

For Veterans' Day

A quick poem I came up with just now for Veterans' Day.

We will keep our homes safe
by FE Nov. 11, 2008

Bombs explode around us.
Sounds of shooting fill the air.
The enemy's war cry is heard
coming closer, closer,
closer.

Wounded warriors fall.
We will not leave them behind.
Many may think it foolish,
to sacrifice a life for one that is already gone,
but we think otherwise.
We will not leave any man behind.

Through victory or defeat,
we keep our hope up.
We will fight until the end.

We will keep our homes safe,
safe from those who threaten it,
We are not heroes.
We are just common people,
who dearly love our country.

did you vote?

Fate of a Nation.
by FE, Nov 4 2008

The adrenaline rushes.
People rush in the streets to the polls,
grabbing the last chances to have their voices heard.
Neighbors argue and convince.

Eyes are glued to the tv.
Prayers, wishful thinking, hopes.
The fate of a nation is at bargain.

A nervous vibe is felt across the country.
As each new result is presented,
cheers, and cries are heard in every house.
Who will triumph?

The last hour has come.
The victor is about to be announced.
A moment of tense silence vibrates
through the whole country.

The next president of the United States of America
is
...

a poem

Life and Adventure are waiting.
by FE, November 3, 2008

Adventure awaits in a hidden place,
that can only be reach through dreams.
It draws you towards it,
like an unstoppable magnet.
Your soul yearns it,
your heart aches for it.

Dreams are waiting to be fulfilled.
Stories are ready to be finished.
Songs are prepared to be sung.

Go forth, go far,
travel the world.
Imagine the things you could learn,
the things you could experience.
Life will not come to you,
you must go to Life.

Do You Like Waffles in french

There's this REEAAAALLLLLYYY fun song called Do You Like Waffles by Parry Gripp, I got it stuck in my head during french class today, because of a hw worksheet that had des gaufres on it which mean waffles, so I spent all day with that song in my head, even while I was presenting my history CAO, but during french i decided to translate the song into french, so during slp i did so here it is:

Est-ce que tu aimes les gaufres?
Oui, on aime les gaufres!
Est-ce que tu aimes les crêpes?
Oui, on aime les crêpes!
Est-ce que tu aimes le pain perdu?
Oui, on aime le pain perdu!

Do do do do doot
On ne peut pas attendre d'avoir une bouche pleine!
Gaufres! Gaufres! Gaufres!
Do do do do doot

Do do do do doot
On ne peut pas attendre d'avoir une bouche pleine!

Camp, by FE

'CLICK'

A great flash of light blinded her...again. A strict cruel voice sounded behind the light.

“TURN!” it yelled.

She turned.

“No! No! To the LEFT! I said to the LEFT!”

“No you didn't” - she thought... Many times a day, did she think of talking back to this jerk, but she knew she couldn't. The consequences would be...too harsh.

“GOOD, GOOD!” shouted the voice, “Now turn in a circle!”

She twirled in a quick circle.

“No! No! Slooooowwwwwly!”

She turned, slowly, and huffed. She was tired of this. Around her and in other rooms were other girls going through this same process. Beautiful girls, who all probably had something better to do yet were wasting their time here.

Unlike most people might think, all the girls here were quite talented. Jessica was a singer with a voice that made you forget whatever you were doing and would draw your attention as if she was the only person in the room. Melony wrote novels, good ones too, but was simply too shy to have them published. There were several actresses, like Tania and Margie. There was Kayla, who was a scientist, which was a bit unusual for this crowd.

But they were all civilized, intelligent girls. So, maybe they weren't geniuses, not counting Kayla of course, but they weren't dumb either. Well, there were a few of them who weren't exactly bright, perhaps a bit air headed sometimes. Still smart, dumb, talented or not, most of them really were just wasting their time.

'RING' The lunch bell rung.

A rush of people ran, no, speed walked, across the room. Soon there was no one there...except her. She sighed.

“When will this HORROR END!” she yelled into the empty room.

And as though, waiting for a reply, she stood in the now cold breathless room, ready to collapse. Then after a few silent moments she left the room; to join everyone else in the humdrum daily routine that they went through.

“One day,” she thought “ One day I will leave this place. One day I will leave this...this...Model Boot Camp! And when I do will join the world and begin a new life.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Written sometime in 2007 I think...
The story was basically written on the idea of a model boot camp.
I thought it would be a cool idea so I wrote about it. The title right now is just "Camp" because I didn't want the reader to know what kind of camp it was exactly until the end. Giving it the name of "Model Boot Camp" would just give it away immediately, and that would be no fun!
One thing I like about this story is that you don't really learn anything about the girl. It's all pretty mysterious.

For Muia

A sweet smile
on her face.
A gleam of power
in her eye.
She doesn't care
what you think.
She does whatever
she wants.
Her essence is praised
by all around her.
Her youth is wanted
by elders everywhere.
People remember her.
People forget her.
As she walks,
she brings happiness.
As she dances, smiles,
and flowers grow.
Her name is
CHILDHOOD
and she is here
forever.

The Woesome Tale of Horace
or
The day a snail tricked some gods

Sept 2008, by FE

Once there was a snail. His name was Horace. Horace the snail was the fastest snail on earth. He could go an amazing 1 mph! One day Horace went out for a walk. Unfortunately for Horace,he forgot to check the weather channel that morning. So he didn't know that the terrible hurricane Ike was coming in that day. Convinced that it was going to be a great sunny day, Horace decided to be risky and went out to a big field with very little cover.

It was an hour later, while Horace was munching on a blade of grass, that the first gray rain cloud arrived. Soon after that, the storm began. Horace found himself drowning in the massive raindrops. Furious, he began cursing the rain, the clouds, and the thunder.

Then out of nowhere appeared: Thor, Norwegian god of thunder; Zeus, the Greek god of thunder; Jupiter, the Roman god of thunder; Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea; Neptune, the Roman god of the sea; Ægir, the Norwegian god of the sea; as well as various other gods of rain and thunder and water, all from various different cultures.

The gods were all very angry at the previously atheist snail. They did not take the cursing of their creations kindly. Horace, thinking quickly immediately pleaded for their mercy. The gods, who had been feeling quite jolly not counting the whole cursing business, decided to forgive Horace if he accepted and won a challenge they gave him. The gods all loved free entertainment.

Quick thinking Horace, wasted no time and suggested a challenge right away.
“ How 'bout a race? Select the fastest snail you can find and I'll race 'im!” said Horace. The gods, not knowing about Horace's impressive speediness agreed to having a snail race and if Horace did not win he would be punished.

The gods searched far and wide for a snail that they could deem as the fastest. Eventually they found one named Steve. Steve was the quickest snail in his grass patch, he could go a speedy .6 mph!

The gods were flabbergasted by Steve's speed and thought that this was as fast as any snail could ever possibly go. But then again, they didn't know much about things as trivial as the speed of a snail.

They created a flat rock 21 inches long (about the length of two pieces of paper), and put a finish line at one of the ends. Steve and Horace were lined up in front of the starting line. Thor threw a mighty thunderbolt into the sky, and the race began!

Horace slimed across the rock as fast as he could, he was so full of adrenaline he went a .2mph faster than usual, an astonishing 1.2 mph! Being so amazingly fast he easily passed Steve and won the race. The gods then realized they had been duped.

The gods, even more upset than before knew they had to let Horace go unpunished. But they were furious, not only had this puny snail cursed them, but he also tricked them! Now more than before they wanted to punish the little snail. Sadly they knew the could not inflict any harm on the snail without going back on their word, or at least that's what they thought.

One young god, however, had a plan. Splish, was the god of puddles. He was fairly new and mainly worshiped by young children, though there was the occasional childish adult. Splish, though very young, was very clever. Splish decided to confront Horace.

“Horace,”he said, “ the gods and I have been quite impressed by your speed and intelligence! We wish to grant you one wish.”

Horace was shocked.

Horace took a few moments to think and then decided on his wish.
“ I wish to be remembered forever, as the fastest snail on earth who tricked the mighty storm gods.”

“Well then, let your wish be granted!” said Splish, as he snapped his fingers.

A puff of smoke appeared around Horace; and before any one realized what had happened it disappeared. Where Horace the snail had once stood was a small statue of a snail with an alarmed look on it's face. On the base of the statue there was a message engraved.

“ This is Horace. May he be forever remembered as the foolish snail who tricked the gods with his ridiculous speed.”

See, I said I would post it!
I wish you could indent in the posts it would save space instead of having a huge space between each paragraph.

Deep in the Sea

2008, by FE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the story of a mermaid who once had all the things anyone could wish for.
She was young, beautiful, popular, loved by all. She was surrounded by friends all the time, she was her father's favourite little girl, and her bright red hair astonished everyone. Her name was Ariel. But one day a new mermaid appeared. She was beautiful, golden haired, bright as the sun and very young. She became instantly popular, and as she did that , she took Ariel's place. Now she was the youngest, most beautiful and popular mermaid. Ariel became jealous. Her jealousy turned into fury, and she became so overcome with envy that she caused all her friends to leave her because of her constant bitterness. The new mermaid thrived, she became the center of attention and Ariel and her fiery disposition were forgotten.

some quick short poems

Short, sweet,
and to the case.
That is the poetic phrase.

Pale as an angel.
It hides among the clouds,
among it's brilliant friends.

A smile.
A hug.
And a promise.
They were friends

And they were
invincible.

Tapping all day.
Tapping all night.
Tap,tap,tap...
Goes the one, the only,
Tap Dancing Chicken!
Jan 19 2007, by FE

What is it?
What is it? I SAY!
Is it a Bugaaboo you see?
On it's little blue Bugaaboo tree?
WHAT IS IT? WHAT IS IT?
Oh, I know! It's a Bock!
Standing on a grandfather clock!
No? No, you say?
Well then...what is it?

--------------------------------------------------------

Some short poems because it's late and I need some sleep. But I promised myself to try to write a post everyday. The first is just a tiny little poem. The second is about the moon (did you figure that out?). The third is just a small poem about the power of friendship. The fourth is well about a chicken that tap dances of course. For some reason chickens are fun to write about, they make everything funny. The last poem is my tribute to Dr.Seuss and Shel Silverstein. I don't think it's very good, but it's a start. (Jan 19 2007, must have been a very good day for me because I have a lot of poems written on that day, lol) Tomorrow I plan on posting a drawing and a poem. On Saturday, I'm going to post a short story I wrote the other day; it's called THE WOESOME TALE OF HORACE or The day a snail tricked some gods. It's silly but entertaining...I think...at least I hope it is entertaining...

Listen to the Wind
2007-2008, by FE

Hush child, hush,
listen to the wind,
as it blows through the trees.

Hush child, hush,
and listen to the wind.
Listen to its stories.

Stories of woe.
Stories of love.
Stories of adventure.
Stories of great loss.

Hush child, hush,
listen to the wind.

Let it advise you.
Let it entertain you.

Listen to it's stories,
for the wind is as wise as time.
It's tales will only aid you
when times have become hard.

Hush child, hush.
close your eyes,
let your mind be at ease,
and listen to the wind.
-----------------------------------------
I found this one in a notebook, I'm not sure of the date exactly so I put the years it could have been written in, it wasn't finished either, so I finished it now.
I'm going to try to put up some drawings on thursday or friday since there's no school friday.

Waiting
July 6 2007, by FE

As the clouds go by
I wait.
The ocean's mighty waves crash on the sandy shore,
and I wait.
As the seagulls fly,
screeching,scavenging..
still I wait.

I do not know what I am waiting for

A change in the world,
or maybe just a friend
come to lend a hand..

Perhaps I am not waiting for an object
but perhaps an idea;
an opportunity.

But nether less I still wait.
I do not know what it is I am waiting for,
but I know I must wait for it

So here I am
waiting ...

I wrote this one day at the beach... idk what i was thinking about

The Wiccan Chicken
Jan.19 2006, by FE

There once was a chicken,
that was a wiccan.
And everyone called it,
the Wiccan Chicken.

The Wiccan Chicken,
was a very nice chicken.
It just wanted some friends
but did not have any.
Poor Wiccan Chicken...

So the sad lil chicken,
spent it's life being a wiccan.
Shunned from society,
and not a thing to it's name
Poor lil Wiccan Chicken....
-------------------------------------
This is what happens when I try to rhyme even slightly.
I couldnt think of anything that rhymed with chicken other than wiccan.

Purpose

The sole purpose of this blog is as a journal where I can put my work in.
My art, my poems, my stories.
(And the occasional school essay if it turns out well ;D )
I want to share them with the world , even though I really don't care if the world likes or doesn't like what I make.
I will (of course) accept criticism, or compliments, which ever you have to offer.
Constructive criticism will help me improve my creations, which is always good, and compliments...well they just made me more confident with what I do ^ - ^.
Well that's all for now. ENJOY!! (when I actually put things up lol)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S.(to those people who know me personally)
If you know me please don't be nice and say you like what I made even though you hate it or something, tell me what you don't like about it, don't worry I would never get mad.
