CHALLENGE DAY 9

Your favourite cartoon/anime character.

While I have a lot of favourite characters, I thought it was only fair to draw Edward Elric from the manga and twice an anime Fullmetal Alchemist. FMA was the series that truly got me into the world of anime/manga and he was a character that I loved greatly. Maybe it was because we were both short, maybe because my mom had cancer which later took her life and his mother died from sickness, maybe because we both had young siblings to look after,or even all these factors, but I felt like I could relate to him. And he was a good reminder to stay strong even when live is hellish, and to never let anyone give me any trouble over my height. It was also fortunate that I came across the series while it was still growing strong. I got to experience the rush of waiting for each book to come out and then practically devouring it once I got in in my hands, I got to grow with Ed. And in the end, we both got a bit taller.

Yeah... sorry for the lack of posting, I've been busy (more like distracted)

I've discovered lots of things that have been keeping me "busy", hehehe.

Like onemanga.com, and animefreak.tv and I've been busy reading mangas and watching THE NEW FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST!! WOOOT! As well as a new AWESOME anime called Pandora Hearts, which rocks!! ROCKS I TELL YOU! :)

Anyways...

Last weekend I went to the awesome, amazing, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, funtastic and any other good verb, ANIMEBOSTON CONVENTION!! hurraah!

I went with my friends Ian K, who was L from Death Note, Natalie, she went as a Japanese school girl, and Jen, who went as Kyo (female version) from Fruits Basket or Furuba :).

And I was ED ELRIC! From Fullmetal Alchemist! YAY!

I made a coat and everything! I was even the right height hehehe! (He's short, I mean FUNSIZED, too just like me!!)

And he had the best reaction to my shortness ever, hehe, he asked how old I was and when I said 15, he screamed" AHHH THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE WATER!!", it was pretty funny! :)

I'll put more pictures of my coat and of other cosplayers and other stuff later.Now I have to go play with my little baby cousin who came to visit from Syracuse,NY.Her mom, my aunt, my mom and I are all going to a Leonard Cohen Concert this weekend :) !

Winry strikes (again)

This is Winry and Ed. Winry is a childhood friend of Ed and Al. Ed lost an arm and a leg, when he was trying to bring his mother back to life through human transmutation, Al lost his body but Ed was able to tie his soul to a metal suit of armor.Winry and her grandmother made him new ones out of metal, they're called automail.Unfortunately Ed is always fighting,since he's a state alchemist, and often breaks his automail arm, so Winry always has to fix it. But having to fix it some many times upsets her, though really she's just worried about Ed, so she often throws whatever is in her hand at the moment at his head when he shows up, this is usually a wrench.
Fullmetal Alchemist is a great manga/anime, one of my favourites! It's a great tale of about brothers, survival, striving to reach your goals, and good vs. evil and how sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the two. The anime is finished,for now. But the manga hasn't, which is good, ^-^. Anyways, this is just a picture of the aftermath of Winry throwing her wrench at Ed. :). Go to go to sleep now! NITE!

Ed and Al

I love Fullmetal Alchemist!!!! And I would love to write a huge rant about it, buuuuttt I have to go to sleep. Tomorrow perhaps. This is just a rough sketch, needs to be fixed and perfected and all that but i wanted to put SOMETHING up, so I won't break my resolution the day I made it :).
Ed is the one on the left, he's angry because someone called him short or because someone called Al the Fullmetal Alchemist and not him, it happens a lot. Al's a metal suit. :)
