Night's Creatures

Darkness penetrates the sky.
Turning day into night,
right before your eyes.
Night's creatures
come out to play,
their deadly game
of predator and prey.
The howl of the wolves,
a cricket's low chirp,
the nightingale's enchanting song.
Are the only things that dare break the silence.
